One Brick at a Time

This week I was speaking with a founder and I realized that we all have something in common. We all tend to feel that we are alone on our own little island. As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday, remember that you are not on this journey alone. Lean on other founders, mentors, and founder focused communities. We all need inspiration, wisdom and motivation. This is why we decided to create Founder’s Formula.
Here’s this weeks top 5 tweets:

Energy is truly contagious. The best founders I’ve worked with and for were extremely energetic and spread throughout the entire organization. Energy breeds productivity!

When you’re building a startup please:
- laugh as often as possible
- don’t take yourself so seriously
- give yourself a break
- trust in your team
- work in zone of genius
- exercise, sleep good, eat healthy

Health is wealth! Without your health, the business will be impacted and so will your family. Take care of yourself and your mental health.

Things will never go as planned. “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.” - Mike Tyson
That’s why it’s so important to celebrate your wins. No matter how big or how small.
Also, get out of the habit of comparing yourself to others. Very rarely are things as good as they seem from the outside. Many founders are facing the same challenges and issues.

Talked to founder tonight who is struggling. Here’s what I told them:
- this shit is hard
- never as bad as it seems
- keep going
- you’re not in this alone
- don’t give up
- stay alive, don’t die
- let’s build a plan
- let’s win tomorrow
- one day at a time

This shit is very hard! Sometimes I think I’m crazy for taking the path of entrepreneurship. You have to be intrinsically motivated to keep going every single day. Take it one day at a time.

Feel free to share your thoughts on this issue! If there’s any topics you’d like to know about as a Founder let us know and we’ll get to work to cover it.
